We currently have 14 employees covering all of the services we provide and who are able to back each other up when required to ensure continuity of service.

The company is headed up by its managing director, Munro Rankine CA. Munro has been a CA since qualifying in 1979 but still doesn’t know what he wants to be when he grows up!
He hasn’t done quite everything in accountancy but has covered a fair range – from being sent out for the morning rolls to computerising the Falkland Islands Government tax office!
Munro lives in Elgin and is married with three sons and one granddaughter.
His main interest is hillwalking and he can often be found dodging the midges on the top of a mountain on the West Coast of Scotland.
Sue Peairs Smith
Sue has a dual role. She heads up our taxation department and is also responsible for many of our private and professional clients’ accounts.
She has worked in a variety of roles within the accountancy sphere since 1984 and is highly experienced in taxation, accounts and VAT.
Sue has worked with us since 2005 and is very well known by most of our clients – especially around tax return time!
Sue lives near Keith, is married and enjoys reading, walking, sport, keeping fit and music.
James is in charge of our payroll and VAT functions – as such he seems to get most of the ‘phone calls in the office.
He has worked for Cathedral Accountancy Ltd and its predecessors since 1992.
James is married, lives in Elgin and is a keen supporter of Elgin City Football Club where he is Treasurer/Secretary of the Supporters Club.
Margaret is in charge of our accounts and audit team. She joined us in May 2013 and is a fully-qualified Chartered Accountant with fifteen years’ wide ranging experience.
Prior to joining us Margaret was a Chartered Banker and Financial Planning Consultant.
Margaret lives locally, is married and has one daughter.
She is an active member of Moray Business Women. In her spare time Margaret enjoys long distance walking, listening to music, going to the theatre, family genealogy and following various sports.
As our receptionist and general “friendly face” Aileen is the first point of contact between the company and the outside world. She is great!
